Interior pieces, which color from factory?

From the factory, did GM match the interior pieces like defrost vents, visor brackets, visor hooks, etc with the trim color (seat, dash pad, door panel) or the paint color? Trying to figure out what color my stuff needs to be. I am restoring the truck as a hugger orange truck with black interior. The dash and inside cab metal will be orange. So shouldn't that stuff be painted orange too? I can't really picture a orange dash with two black square defrost vents sitting there. Although with the black dash pad right there, it might look ok???

Any advice or thoughts??

Re: Interior pieces, which color from factory?

My 67' s original dash pad is dark red, and so is the dash between the windshield and pad. Vents are also dark red. Entire rest of the truck is medium red (almost hugger orange), including buddy buckets, visors, and door panels.

That's what makes the most sense to me, that it all matches. My interior was originally saddle but EVERYTHING was rattle canned black, so I have no clue what anything was.

From the factory, Black interior would have had black dash pad and the metal in front of it would also be painted black to match black defrost vents.
Visors, seat and door panels would also be black along wth visor clips etc.

Good to know. I never even considered the dash metal would be painted black. Thanks for that tidbit!
