700r4 tv (detent)cable issue

just put a 700r4 in my 90 chevy.its from a 90 camaro and i replaced the detent cable with the correct one for my truck.i installed it and pulled the trottle wide open to set the cable(you could hear it click),but it is shifting into first too quick and once you are over 30 mph it wont downshift into second when you floor it.any ideas?

I'm pretty sure you need to pull of the tail section off of the camaro trans and replace the plastic gear in there to the one from your truck trans. This should make it shift at the right speed.
