Dana 20 Transfer Case

I have been cleaning and rehabbing parts for my 69 Blazer project while its shell is having body and paint done. Cleaned off 48 years of gunk on the Dana 20 transfer case. It will need gaskets and seals, but from what I can see so far, it is in good shape. Someone has been in it before as there is some blue rtv visible on the oil pan, but it was a good while ago.

Re: Dana 20 Transfer Case

20 is a decent case....much lighter than a 205 and slightly lower ratio @ 2.03:1

Re: Dana 20 Transfer Case

That's what I have read - no previous personal experience. Compact and strong so they say.

This was originally a 6 cylinder but with an sm465 four speed. Not sure if an extra cross member would work with that drive line set up? 69's could come with 2 or 3 different makes of transfer cases, and I have no idea of the differences in lengths, positions, and if different skid plates were involved. My old 71 Blazer with a NP 205 just had a factory skid plate bolted to the single cross member. So for now, I guess I am not interested. Thanks much for the offer though. Appreciate it.
