83 Bench Seat?

I'm almost to the point that I want to recover the bench seat in my 83 & need to know what type of seat cover to get.

The option code on the SPID says XDD1 Blue Custom Vinyl Bench

Does this code tell whether it is vinyl with cloth inserts or just all vinyl?

I also see on here & other suppliers are showing different vinyl patterns to choose from. Did GM have those different patterns too choose from for 1983?

My seat has been recovered by the PO, so I don't have anything to go on.

Any suggestions?

Attached is a pic of my label

Re: 83 Bench Seat?

There was a base vinyl for Custom Deluxe and then the Custom Vinyl was available across all the trim levels.

If you can find a picture in a brochure of blue vinyl that should be the material you need.

Tagging for info on what cover you end up with. My 83 High Sierra had the same seat as the brown one Keith posted, only in Buckskin.

Re: 83 Bench Seat?

I use a guy out of North Carolina, he makes covers for USA1 Industries. He's been making covers since the early 80's. Very high quality covers. The draw back is the wait time. I've gotten a few from him, this one is my favorite, Mahogany Tweed.
If you don't want to wait, Classic Industries has good covers in stock.

I like the idea of the tweed. I had tweed in my 70 GMC.

Do you have a link or contact info on him?

Re: 83 Bench Seat?

I just met with him yesterday, he came up to the Canfield Ohio Swap Meet. I'll send you a PM for his personal info. Or you can go thru USA1 Industries. You can call and talk to Randy.
https://www.usa1industries.com

He also did this Green Tweed Cover for me. I just haven't installed it on the seat yet.
