68 C-10 "Project Overdrawn"

Well here is a picture of my 68 C-10 that was my daily driver for about eight months. Last winter the motor started running like crap and the tranny started having issues. This truck is in need of some tlc. Since these pictures have been taken, the motor and trans have been yanked out. The truck is at my buddies shop where the rocker panels are being repaired. He is also going to fill in some holes and paint it for me. Not sure what color to paint it yet. I'm thinking maybe a Dupont Cortez Silver. The truck will be sitting on some type of black wheels( 18's or 20's). I was orginally going to a air ride set up, but now I think I'll just go with a 4/6 drop. The tired 350 will be replaced with new crate motor backed by a turbo 400 trans. I was hoping to have the truck finished by now but I just recently had a little girl. So the budget is tight. I've been slowly selling off stuff I dont need to fund this truck. I'll keep you updated on my slow progress.

Re: 68 C-10 "Project Overdrawn"

I'm looking at a Gm Fast Burn 385 crate motor with a Turbo 400 trans. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will be able to pull the cab and the bed off the frame. Have the bed blasted. And start tearing into the frame. I want completely strip the frame and have it blasted, and maybe powdercoat it. Then start installing the disc conversion, with spindle's. That will be a good start.
