Thumbs down Johny Law Motors IFS in 1955 - 1959 (quality issues)

Hey Guys just ordered a Johny Law Motors corner killer IFS kit ( Helix suspension kit ) for my 1955 second series 3100 Chevy truck. This kit is using the coil over shocks . Has any one , installed one in their truck and is there anything I should know before going into this R&R suspension project ?
Thanks Vic

I have the IFS Johny Law sells and not happy about it. All the rubber included has split or cracked before the build was finished. I'm concerned about other issues down the road.

So the rubber . May be of a cheap compound. What type of warranty did they give you ?
My concern is that this kit will not be installed for a few years

I've got one too that I bought from "Welder Joe" on Ebay.

The welding is sloppy at best and the welds were ground clear through where they "finished off the edges.

My son said he would weld it up right but it may never end up under one of my trucks instead being put under a little roadster that will run a 16 valve 4 cylinder engine and five speed and weigh right at 1000lbs.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

WTF these guys are welding these with a Oxy Acetylene outfit and coat hangers. I am a fabricator and will jack their AZZ up if the kit I bought is like that. Any other help , experience and opinions are always welcome.
Thanks Guys

The one I have is the "universal" crossmember but as you see it is pretty sloppy. Between my son, his friend that taught him to weld and one of my longest time friends who is a top rate certified welder I can get it squared away eventually.

Still it's sloppy and unsafe work that you paid for. THEY should have the certified welder. Johnny Lawsuit waiting to happen.

Are these built over seas ?
I will know what I bought in 2 weeks when I get to Reno Nevada where my parts have been shipped. That is where my truck is.

Well I am going to ask them if they carry manufacturers risk insurance and to produce one copy.
I am not going to put some POS under my vehicle and take the chances.

I think if you read their fine print they warranty nothing that they sell and everything you buy from them is warranted by the producing company in China or Taiwan.

That's the same as no warranty at all.

Never had much luck with anything from Hoffman.
