Re: Die-cast 67-72

Yeah, I bet they are gonna be real hard to find in stores. The Wal Mart where I bought mine has already marked down the other cars that came in the box with the 67 truck. I bet they don't order any more. Did you check with WES?

I'll just have to wait for the next one or whenever.

What I typically do is save the images and make a page for a binder I keep with as much info on a toy as I can find. Then when funds are available and I can find the things I'm looking for, I'll bid. That new RLC and the treasure hunts, in the binder. Some Hwy 61's, in the binder. Those stamped tin factory trucks for each of the truck plants, in the binder.

Now that we have this thread going, maybe I'll post a couple things I'm looking for. Some people might have extras, especially for some of the more vintage items.

My Wal-marts had them marked down a well - no '67s in the bunch. I bought one more blue/white '67, though.

Here's one I don't have. This is on one of WES's threads.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Here are some I'm looking for. If anyone can help me out, it would be appreciated.

The black one is a slot car made by MEV. Listed as a 1971 Chevy truck.

The last two pictures were from an auction a while back for a stamped steel toy made in japan. Never seen another one.

PS. Josh, I haven't gotten a reply to my lastest PM yet - I hope this is legal...

Paul, you make me jealous every time you post pics of your collection. Nice addition. Do you do the customizing on the Green 69?.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Paul, I had no idea those stamped steel ones came in different colors. I'd never seen anything but the blue. Nice collection, very cool. Could you post a picture of those ones to the left of those. You have the Bell Pioneer truck and some hot wheels, but they look custom, I don't recognise them.

Here are some better pics of my recent finds:
These zylmex ones lost their stripes or decals, and the yellow one has a broken rear bumper.

Here are some shots I always wanted to take to show the varied scales. Some just ain't right.

I wish I new how to make it focus through the full depth of the picture.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Heres a old pic without the Pioneer truck, but nothing else is different, not really anything too unusual, the Napa truck is the same as the Bell System Pioneer truck.
I have only seen one Red stamped steel KJ truck and thats the one I have ..it is different, it's packed different (you can see in the photo)
I've got two of the Blue factory ones (Fremont, and St. Louis) and am looking for the other two. They are tough to find and pricey when you do find them.

You could take the picture from further away, so that the distance between the closest and the furthest model is much less than the distance from the camera to the models. Then with your photo editing software, crop around the models and zoom in real tight. If your resolution is high enough, it should turn out OK.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Finally got my new Jada High Profile 72 Cheyennes in the mail today. I also got the 57 Suburbans, I collect them too. I think I've got 8 different ones. All 1:64 scale.
Notice in the pic that the base/wheels on the 72's swap-out perfect with the older Jadas 72s. The 57 Suburbans swap-out with the old 57s also, but I didn't have any extra to show.
57s won't swap-out with the 72s though.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Cool. I think the slammed mountain rescue may have some issues getting over the pass in an emergency, though.

Now the just need a set of stock height base/wheels.
