1957 GMC After Market Door Help

I bought 2 new doors for my 1957 GMC (I think they were Chevy/GMC doors) and when I tried to fit them on the GMC hinge, the arm on the hinge is a lot smaller than the top door pocket.

My hinge starts at 1/4 inch then steps up to 1/2. The smallest part of the upper pockets seems to be about 5/8 and steps up.

Are the Chevy hinges thicker, I do not think the pocket is going to compress as much as it needs to for a tight fit.

2 questions, what is the Chevy hinge thickness and have any of you run into this?

I checked and the pocket on my old GMC door is tight to the arm of the hinge.

This picture is not my hinge, just one I grabbed off the web.
