Steering wheel help
Hi, I need advice on what to do next. I cut down my steering wheel from stock size to 15 inches. I filled in all the cuts and cracks with epoxy now do I top coat with bondo or some other filler? And what about paint, epoxy, rattle can, automotive paint? This is from my 1950 truck. Thanks for any help.

I am curious to see what other guys come up with. I have to imagine this is very hard to pull off because that plastic is SOOOOOOO different than anything we can get that I know of to fill it. The first thing that comes to mind is filling the whole low area with epoxy and then epoxy priming the whole thing and using that for any small imperfections left.

I know eastwood makes a kit for this.....
and there's a guy on the 47-59 section that did his but I can't remember who

There a number of youtube videos. I forget the name of the epoxy. I will post it tomorrow.
I touched the cracks up with a dremel tool and then kneaded the two parts of the epoxy together. I packed the prepared cracks with the epoxy and pushed it down filling the crack all the way around. When it dried I sanded the epoxy down as smooth as I could. I waited til the next time I was spraying epoxy and used a small brush to touch up the areas. The next time I mix black paint I will touch the areas with color. The repair went well and the epoxy primer looks pretty good. Scott |

Thank you all for your help, I used pc7 epoxy I got from ace hardware this stuff is great. I just need to fill a few holes and scratches with some body filler. I will look into the nylon paint, by the way nice job.
