93 -97 Camaro 12" rear disc brakes

Has anyone spent any time mocking up 93-97 Camaro rear disc brakes on a 67-68 12 bolt rear end?

I have a rebuilt set and have used them on other projects with good success.

I will be buying new axles so getting the hub register, flange diameter and 4.75 x 5 bolt pattern correct is no problem.

I did a search here and found mostly Impala or Eldo rear disc conversions.

Thanks

Thanks for the link. I did review it previously.

I'm planning on all fbody parts including rotors. It looks like the Impala rotors have deeper off set towards the axle tube making the caliper bracket more complicated.

I've just started to fab some parts. I will post some pics when I get something close.

This is interesting, how do the f-body rotors differ? Please do post pics etc. when you get a chance. Subbed.

I've got impala rotors with fbody calipers on mine. No issues and I have a simple flat bracket that mounts to back of the axle flange. It might be two pieces, can't remember for sure, but nothing complicated about it. The 5x4.75 bolt pattern is much more of pita to deal with.

*edit* I have glock's old brackets that he doesn't make anymore. They are like Captainfab's though. Very simple and work very well.

Re: 93 -97 Camaro 12" rear disc brakes

The Fbody rotors require the axle register turned down to fit the rotors along with the axle flange. 4.75 bolt circle.

Made my mounts out of out of 1/4" plate. The "outside" mount I hole sawed a 3 3/8" hole so it fits over the axle bearing stub. Had to die grind it a bit larger so it fit properly. Then transfer punched the backing plate holes to the plate.

The outside plate is large enough that the inside plate bolts to it with no spacers. The inside plate sits directly over the backing plate flange. The caliper mounts to the inside plate. This allows room for the caliper bracket. Looks much like the Impala setup with no spacers.

I will get some pics.

Has anyone done this conversion using the f-body caliper mounting brackets like in this article?

Do you know what the difference is or why they do not work? I can only find 1 4 bolt flange type for the 10/12 axles
