Shock absorbers
I just got Michelin Defender tires ( 265/75r/16).... A little softer riding tire.
I believe the softer tires show my shocks are worn in the front. ( no kidding...180,000 miles on them!) They are fabulous Tokico Trekmaster #GE3667. I am not sure how easy it is to find them... but wondering if there is a good second choice brand shock? My ride is stock , '88 Sierra C2500 2 wheel drive.

Re: Shock absorbers
Thanks.... Bilstiens are my second choice. I will get them for my rears.
After a couple calls, and a couple calls back, I found Tokico # HE3667 in N. Carolina, for my fronts. Tokico doesn't really sell anymore to our sort of trucks anymore, but the guy has a few of these on the shelf. ( less than $35 bucks, he's charging me)......

Re: Shock absorbers
Glad you found some. I used Rancho 5000s on my old 96(yep 2wd) and was really pleased with them. The guy that has the truck now just replaced them with another set after 120K.

Re: Shock absorbers
A year after buying my truck, I got fed up with the awful California freeways and the bumps ( like driving on railroad tracks). Tokico made this shock to counter those bumps. ( a second valving system just for the little bumps).
But I know KYB, Rancho & Bilstiens are also good. Thanks for the suggestions!

Re: Shock absorbers
I found the front shocks that I wanted. Tokico does not sell them anymore, but aaa-imports in S.C. still has some! Cool!
