1957 big rear window replacement

I ordered a new rear window for my 57,when I went to install it, its a little to small, I would say a 1/8 or 1/4 of and inch too short, I remember reading somewhere that sometimes the new replacement glass is a little too short,
you can see the edge of the glass on both sides, I also replaced the gasket around it with a new one, what gives, anyone remember having this issue?

Re: 1957 big rear window replacement

I replaced the rubber on my 59 big window and had to buy three different window gaskets because the rubber was to thick by 1/8' to 1/4". I found the correct rubber for the stock window at Steel rubber products. I guess the first rubber seals I purchased were for the new glass that is smaller than the stock glass, I have an extra seal that is to small for my stock glass if you want to try it

Steele Rubber is reliably the best.

I wanted to buy the gasket for my BBW from Steele but they told me that they didn't have the chrome lock strip. I ordered one from Bowtie Bits as they sold it with either black or chrome lock strips.

I also remember reading that depending on where you get the actual rear glass , there is a chance it might be a little too "small" , anyone had this happened? Where did you get your glass from?
