'63 bench seat in a '53

So I’ve decided to put a ’63 bench seat in my ’53. Anyone done that? I just want a nice basic bench seat - no buckets, no power lumbar stuff. I’ll have it rebuilt and recovered.

I have two original ’53 seats, but don’t like the look of the pipe around the seat. And a ’63 tilts forward for access to behind the seat. My gas tank is under the bed, so that would be good.

Can anyone give me the width of a ’63 seat please? Or the width of the cab inside between doors.

You'll probably have more luck getting that measurement if you ask that question here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/forumdisplay.php?f=6 in the 60-66 forum. Good luck!

Seat width isn't in the GM herritage center info but snooping around shows that they use the same 88/98 seats that a lot of us use.
