I am glad to see this truck on the road and with a board member. Looking awesome! I will be watching the progress. Nothing better than father/son builds too.

Re: Old Girl (aka Project Underhaulin)

Made some progress!! The Billet Specialties accessory drive is installed, as well as the CPP steering box. I built the power steering hoses using Russell Power Flex -6 hose and fittings. We lack installing the radiator, stripping a few unneeded wires (1 wire alternator), and a small modification to the driver side inner fender to accommodate the power steering hoses. If all goes well we should have it back up and running tomorrow.

Re: Old Girl (aka Project Underhaulin)

Ordered a few more parts today. Since we are going to be installing A/C at a later date I went ahead and ordered a new radiator, fans, and fan controller from entropy. It's a similar set up to what I used on the green '68 step side, good quality pieces. Also ordered a radiator mount/cover from Hot Rod Dynamics, also a well engineered piece that looks slick.

Re: Old Girl (aka Project Underhaulin)

Pretty bummed... Ordered the radiator and fan set up on Monday hoping it would be here by the weekend, just found out it won't even be built until Next Wednesday. I was hoping to have the truck put together for the boy's birthday on Monday, guess not.

Re: Old Girl (aka Project Underhaulin)

Small victories for the Old Girl this weekend. We were able to get the old metal transmission hard lines removed and made preparations to mount a heat sink cooler and build braided hoses. We also installed a new Edelbrock fuel filter and added this new braided fuel line. Well concentrate on the trans cooling hoses this week while we wait for #entropy to build our radiator and fans. #ihatewaiting

Re: Old Girl (aka Project Underhaulin)

While we are STILL waiting on an update on the radiator we ordered two weeks ago, I know , we did make progress.

We found a deal on a new Edlebrock 1406, not that the old one run poorly we just thought the bright and shiny was a better fit for the Old Girl, so out with the old...

And in with the new!

Much better.

While we were at it we installed a TV made easy kit from Bowtie Overdrives. If you have a 700r4 this kit is an awesome way to ensure you have the proper throttle valve control. Check them out.

We also mounted the transmission cooler and built the lines, hopefully the ports on the new radiator will be close.

Hopefully we'll get some news about the radiator tomorrow.

Re: Old Girl (aka Project Underhaulin)

It's been a rough couple of weeks in the garage but we believe we've prevailed! The Entropy radiator showed up and is a really nice piece. We also bought custom radiator cover from Jeff at Hot Rod Dynamics, it still needs trimming and fitting but will look nice when complete. For now stock hold downs will work. The Summit brand heat sink transmission cooler had a bad inlet, threads galled when the fitting was installed causing a leak, so we replaced it with a Derale unit. The quality of the Derale unit was much better, although I have a sneaking suspicion they are made in the same factory. My son also picked out an air cleaner, we like the black on the Chevy orange engine. A lot of hours spent wiring the fans and getting all of the hoses and fitting correct.

Some pics because...

Thanks but we can't take all the credit, plenty of board members have sweat equity in this truck, we're just cleaning up a few things and throwing our spin on it.

Its a gloomy morning out in NW Florida but everything is bright and shiny for Connor (c10punk). We just put about 25 miles on the Old Girl just now and everything is looking good.

Yeah, but it can be a bit of a pain to get the TV and lock-up dialed in. We only have 53 miles on it now so time will tell.
