Bad frame cracks, can it be fixed?

It's worse than I thought. Could this be repaired with drilling out the ends of the cracks and adding fishplates? It a tight spot with the K member and the frame contours.

A knowledgeable welder can fix that very easily with the correct repair procedure. Shouldnt be any problem at all.

Yeah, you could stop drill the cracks and weld them up. The frame area where you seem to have cracks doesn't look rusted out at all, why did the cracks appear there? Accident and/or overloaded?? I'm not sure if fish plates would be necessary. Looks like you have access to weld from both sides, and frame isn't that thick. But someone more knowledgeable would know better.

That would weld up ok, probably be a good idea to add a backing plate to the damaged area.

I’m wondering if you are out of square after whatever caused that damage. Maybe a front end sideways wipe from R to L type of hit? It doesn’t take much to bend a frame. It’s worth looking at the opposite side to see if there’s any deformation. Usually looks like the top or bottom of the c-channel is pushed up/down in a spot or is wavy from being hammered back to shape.

If you do see any of that, find a shop with a frame bench and willingness to work on something old.

Yep I agree. I repaired my frame where the steering box mounts up. That one looks a lot easier than what I had to deal with.
