They were part of the kit from Ride Tech.

Thumbs up Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Your build is looking awesome!
What was the selling point on the Ride Tech kit over the Porterbuilt kit?
I am in the process of planing a build very similar to yours on my 64 step side i inherited from my father last year. Was the LS3 accessory drive system a pain? I've seen on Pace Automotive's website they have a A/C relocation kit to bring the A/C compressor to the top of the engine. Also, what's the plan for the power steering? Back to the steering box or retrofitting a rack and pinion?
I will definitely be following along with your build.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Thanks Fatso64, PB vs RT, I certainly don't have any proble with PB, their quality is amazing but I wasn't looking to set the frame on the ground just wanted to be able to adjust ride height and have a performace type suspension. Don't think you could go wrong with either one.

The corvette drive system was about a 30 min job not counting the A/C. Thanks for the heads up on the upper mount from pace. I still may have to go that rout. Headers will be very close to A/C lines the way it is now.

Power steering.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

I would guess you're going the performance boosting route, but just out of curiosity, did the crate engine come with OEM style exhaust manifolds like the E-ROD kit advertises, and if so did they fit? I plan on keeping the engine simple out of the box. It's nice to be able to see someone going the same route I plan to go, and learn from their experience.
Are your kids getting into the building experience with you much?

Yes it came with OEM manifolds, and no they won't fit with the CPP Perch's. Kids help here and there, school, sports and holidays has kept everyone busy!

Yes they are currently out of stock. They say middle of this month they shold have more. My conversation with them didn't give me a lot of confidence that would happen. I guess we will see.

craig, i seen some doug thorley headers on ebay! i have the same cpp perches and had problems finding headers that would work! the problem is you need headers that cylinders 1 & 2 tubes come out go straight back past 3 & 4 to clear the perches! they aren't cheap, heres a link to some i think will fit! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Doug-Thorley...item4cfcca40fa

craig, can you get a more of a side view of the exhaust ports and where the cpp perch is! i looked back when you but on the bbk headers and i'm wondering if the 3 & 4 exhaust port are right above the perches or if its the angle of the pictures, thanks!! i can't tell if the headers you would need would need the 3 & 4 tubes to come straight out an go back some too or not!

The #1 port is the problem, the #3 port on the sanderson was good.

Did you try street&performance, I bought headers for my lt1 from there , for a 67-72 but fit great. I know LS1 is different config but they do it all.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Things are moving slow, don't want to get much further along until the header issue is fixed. Did get the brake lines run, fuel cell is in, power steering gear box is in. Had a huge dust storm Monday covered the truck in dust, really ticked me off. Also upgraded my air compressor for the soon to be sandblasting.
