Running boards

I am thinking about buying new running boards for a 53 short bed. Has anyone had good luck with new running boards? What brand? I am thinking of buying from Summit racing, they sell AMD. I know some reproduction parts are good and some are really bad. Thanks.

Re: Running boards

I used Goodmark running boards and they fit pretty good. I have original fenders and the rears were a little warped where they attached to the running boards, so it took a little work to get them lined up.

Re: Running boards

I haven't had any experience with Auto metal Direct that Summit sells and Amazon sells

Amazon if you have prime shipping is included in the price https://www.amazon.com/Running-Board...hevrolet+Truck

Summit is 20 bucks less but you are going to pay a bunch on shipping https://www.summitracing.com/parts/a...et/model/truck

The filling station has them for 475 a pair which is about the same as Amazon but you might be able to pick them up. https://www.fillingstation.com/detai...NG_BOARDS.html

Chevs of the 40's are a hundred dollars more than the others without shipping.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: Running boards

Summit shipping is $9.99 per running board, so not bad. Some places don't say what brand the parts are. I got Counter Parts bed sides for my last truck and they were real bad. The place I got them from did not say brand when I ordered.

Re: Running boards

The good thing about Summit is their no-questions-asked return policy. If you don't like them, send 'em back for a full refund. You're only out the shipping. I once sent a seat back to Summit with no box; just stuck a mailing label on the seat itself.

Re: Running boards

I checked Classic Heartbeat as Wes is a site vendor here and I've been to his shop in Olympia. He is also pretty picky as to what he sells from my experience. 239.95 Each.
https://www.classicheartbeat.com/pro...metal/page/15/

A bit of searching of the part number says they are made by Key parts.

He has really upgraded his website too.

Re: Running boards

I got my set off ebay...they are very heavily made, came with free shipping ...ill look and see if I still got the box...I think these weigh more than the originals did...
