transmission swap

dudes, i'm changing my 54' suburban to open driveline setup. i have a 60' chevy for parts to get my truck rolling for now(t-5 comes later) i'm using the 235 and wanted to know if the 60' 3-speed will bolt up to the 54' bellhousing and hook up to the column linkage. also does anyone know if the 60' rearend is the same width as the 54' because i would like to use it also. i wan't my burb rolling so the rusty 60' is becoming a donor truck. thanks
