Russel makes these fittings

part numbers 640860 5/16 & 640850 3/8

dont be like me.. look before you leep. i ran out and bought a wix vette filter/reg. for $50 and had to go right back and return it. with these fittings you can run an inline fuel filter.. i chose to go with a ac delco oem filter for the 2001 5.3 vortec. $25 but with being able to run the inline filter your choices are vast.

Re: Return-style 5.3 2001

be advised...there have been reports of those popping off and of course...spraying fuel everywhere. they have a 2nd design that uses metal pieces as "locks" instead.

I haven't replaced mine yet....but I do have the lines tie wrapped.

Re: Return-style 5.3 2001

oh wait i think i get what youre sayin.. i could have just ran my fuel line right into the nipples already on the rail.. yeah i could have, im worried though that with the 340 stealth fuel pump in my boyd welding tank.. my lines might pop off.... i was told these would keep that from happening. but as kurt was saying there are reports of even these doing that.. lol i guess the fitting really dont have anything to do with the filter tho do they! hahaa

Re: Return-style 5.3 2001

lol ya your logic was non sequitur.
The fittings your have now are the version1 of the fittings. The plastic center loses grasp of the barb and can pop off. My return line popped off on a roadtrip and pumped raw gas onto the headers....at a gas station. The version 2 cannot come off without mechanical force. The problem is the manufacturer doesn't aknowledge the issues and won't recall them.
