Dash light globes

Hi all, back on here after a long absence, I was wondering are all the twist in globes on the back of the instrument panel of a '69 c10 the same or are there different ones for indicators, high beam, gen light, etc. I notice some of the holders have numbers on them, does this mean anything?.

Thanks in advance and Merry Xmas to all

The mini bulbs are push-in, right? Are those what you are asking about? They are all the same for everything.

Re: Dash light globes

Thanks Special-K, yes the push in ones that go in the black twist holder, I must have a couple of bung ones that need replacing.
Cheers for that.

Special K is usually right, but not today. I believe some are 194s and some are 168s.

Check your owner's manual to be sure, but I remember it as everything takes 194s except the turn signals, which are 168s.

1895s also interchange with 194s. The 194s are two candle power, the 168s are three, so I guess the turn signals are brighter.

I find the tach too bright relative to the other gauges so have experimented with 168s on the outboard edges, but never found a setup I liked.

Re: Dash light globes

Thanks Dave
That sounds like the problem I'm having, I have moved the globes around and some work in places and not others, checked all contact points and earths on a new circuit board I installed. Thing is when I jump online to buy some new ones they don't specify the differences so its a bit of a hit and miss when I get them here in Australia, can get costly with the exchange rate the way it is and shipping.

Cheers, Oz
