just wanting to ask a simple question... the hanger is what the shackle attaches to correct?

No. The 'hanger' is your new front leaf spring mount. The 'shacle' replaces the rear facory shackle.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

I believe that is correct. I can't remember the exact cut off year.

No suggestions here. I don't care for any of the 'new' commercially available 8-lug wheels unless you hit close to the 1k each price tag (some of them look pretty clean). Everything 8-lug that's current & affordable has jacked-up offsets/back-spacing geared toward newer trucks that are lifted.

Re: 84' 3/4 lowered advice

UPDATE! been driving it lowered for awhile.. still love how it rides and looks. I've put 33s on 17x8 American racing wheels on it and love it. Also tinted windows and much more... Here are a couple pics..

Re: 84' 3/4 lowered advice

Your truck looks great! I want to lower my 76 C20 but have a few questions.
  1. Are your rear shocks located on the outside or inside of the frame rails?
  2. Did you use the DJM lowered shocks in the rear?
  3. Did you do anything on the front?
Thanks
