grill replacement
I just bought a grill off of e-bay for my 71 blazer, are there any suggestions out there before I take the old one off and replace it with the other? Do I need to use rivits? Or can I use screws?
Also, who out there has a soft top on their first generation blazers, who would you suggest to buy one from? Thanks for the help.

I just changed the Grille on my 72 and it easn't as easy as I thought it would be. Youll need a rivit gun. It took a few hours to get it perfect. Just keep an eye on how the old one comes off and you should be fine.

I'VE SEEN PEOPLE USE BOLTS, BUT IT LOOKS PRETTY CHEASY. GET A POP RIVET GUN. LINE UP THE HOLES IN A FEW SPOTS WITH AWLS, & PUT MASKING TAPE ON THE EDGES OF THE PAINTED AREAS TO PROTECT THEM FROM SCRATCHES. IT'S NOT THAT TOUGH. JUST TAKE YOUR TIME. YOU MAY HAVE TO LOOSEN UP THE BOTTOM FRONT OF YOUR FENDERS TO GET THE BOTTOM OF YOUR GRILL TO FIT IN BETWEEN YOUR FENDERS. GOOD LUCK WITH IT JOHN

Better yet, get yourself some of the new grill rivet bolts! I bought 2 packs from Lutty's Chevy parts.
http://www.luttyschevy.com/pages/home.html They look like rivets from the top but have a threaded bottom and attach with a small nut. Easy to install and can be removed later if you want.
