To Restore or Not Restore??? 69 C10

So I ordered my C-Notche and Porterbuilt air bag suspension and started to wire brush the frame to paint it black. I was going to slap some wheels on it and leave it ratty and call it a day. But after looking at it it didn't look to bad some rusty area that some bond could cure and the cab i already have the sheet metal floors. maybe it would look cool fixed up with a paint, What do you guys think?

Leave it ratty and drive the wheels off it first. This is exactly what I'm doing. It's a lot more fun working on it while I drive it too. This way I don't lose interest.

Filler over rust = bad idea. To save the metal you want to stop the rust and clean it / blast it / repair what you can.. then treat the panel to stop the rust from coming back. Epoxy prime the panel, then your filler if that's the route you want to go. Block it back flat and a good 2k primer to block and paint. Take a look at the Epoxy and primers from Southern Polyurethanes. They are easy to spray and very fairly priced. Their primers sand very nicely and the Epoxy is great.

The idea is to 'seal away' the bare metal. Regular primers and fillers are porous and will allow water to penetrate. Water and bare metal will cause rust underneath your new paint and ruin your work.
