4x4 front bumber brackets

Hi I am working on a 68 chev 4x4. having trouble with front bumper brackets, I think I got brackets from a 71 to 72 4x4 truck. I check the truck shop catalog and found out that 67 to 70 4x4 chev and 67 to 72 4x4 gmc brackets are the same part numbers. I was wondering if I modifiy the ends of the 70 to71 brackets would they work to clear the front spring mounts or do I have to find bracelets for my 68 4x4

I think you will need the correct ones. Shouldn't have any trouble selling your 71 72 brackets to fund the 70 and earlier pair.
