72 Blazer frame tails

How far do the frame tails hang out from the rear body cross support.Last owner cut them off , i have replacement ones but don't know measurement .A picture and a measurement from a specific point would be great. Thanks

Re: 72 Blazer frame tails

They stick out approx. 1.5" beyond the rear body panel below the tail gate. I know because I had to extend mine due to being cut off. I added about 1.25" and my rear bumper is too close to the body.

I have about 1/8 inch to spare between the bumper and quarter panels. I would have liked to have a little more room but it wasn't worth the effort to relocate the holes.

If you have the tails you could mount them to your bumper/brackets and then align the bumper to the body at a point that you find acceptable, weld them and call it good.
