1959 Apache 36

So my father in-law is retiring next year and he told me a long time ago that he has always wanted an old Apache. His dad had one that he used for a little tree service so long story short I found one and bought it for him. The plan is to get it tuned up, driving and stopping. Get some newer replacement wheels and tires, patch up the floor, kick panel, and the inner steps. Then give it to him and let him decide on what route he wants to go for restoration. $550.00 was what it took to drag it out of the field so if he hates it and doesn't want it I wont be too upset to hang onto it.

I’ll post what I always post to newbies:

1. Make it stop
2. Make it go
3. Make it cool!

Best of luck and make sure to keep posting pictures.

That is awesome, you have got to get more pictures of the customer mirror. Someone put thought into that!

Re: 1959 Apache 36

Well it turns out my father in-law doesn't want the truck so it is now my second project. I recently received a free 91 Chevy 2500 4x4 that will now become the donor for the apache build. The plan is to do a frame swap and keep every thing I can out of the 91. I love the NAPCO trucks so I figured sticking with a long bed but on the new chassis would be a cool ass truck in the end. I got some major floor and door cancer to take care of first. This is what happens when a truck sits for 12 years and sinks into the dirt after years of Illinois winters as well. But this project probably wont go anywhere until the 53 is close to done.
