41 to 46 rear fenders

Has anyone ever modified the 40 ford steel rear fenders? They are cheap at 400 a set

Re: 41 to 46 rear fenders

I took a look at them online. Their appearance looks close but the mounting edge is not flat all the way like a gm 41-46 pickup. The notches may be below the bedside but would want to be able to look at them first. Plus to me they do not appear as teardropped in the rear.

With Superior Fiberglass out of production for months because of the fire, getting replacement fiberglass may get tougher.

I am still looking at the fiberglass ones for the 46 dually which I need 20" one way or another.

Re: 41 to 46 rear fenders

I saw this truck at a car show in Anaheim or its twin and it looks cool. I never noticed the ford rear fenders.

Re: 41 to 46 rear fenders

In the rear the bed is short and the fenders go past. They installed a panel bellow the tailgate to fill the differenceName: 1939-gmc-street-rod-custom350ciautopdbair-ridelike-chevy-3100not-rat-rod-6.jpg

they likely go past because its an s10 short (6') bed, which I thought he did pretty well. makes me think what a waste of time it is to pine for the perfect original set of fenders and a nice bed, that guy just went out and made something.

I REALLLY like the way these look. I think I may try selling my 37-38 set again and pick up a set of fords for the next truck.

oh and you can see in the link its a GMC, I said chevy even though clearly it has general motors truck right there on the hood sides. glad nobody caught that faux pas
