Checking for a spark

What's the best way you check your spark plugs? My truck won't start and kids are off to college so don't have anyone to turn the key. Thanks for any help,

Use your timing light.
Put it on a plug wire and point the bulb where you can see it flash.

That is one of the reasons I install a ford relay and rewire the starter

Or use a remote starter switch.
