Independence Day!
Wishing everyone a fun-filled, happy July 4th celebration! Right now our fireworks display is about to start and a few folks are firing off their own.
Our big dog is terrified just like every year so he's gonna have a rough night. Loud noises are scary!

Re: Independence Day!
As a kid I loved the fourth. We always had an abundant supply of fireworks to "play" with. As I got older, meh, fireworks just didn't cut it for me anymore. Don't care for the displays myself, not an oooo ... ahhhh person lol.
But it really bugs me that fireworks have been banned in most of the areas around here unless you are a little more rural. Its a right of passage for kids (girls and boys) to try and come out of the fourth with all your fingers haha! I heard a news story on the radio about the noise, some people (stick in the muds) want it banned statewide. It bothers their pets etc etc. I don't get it, its once a year folks. Easy enough to be prepared for the festivities either way, love em or hate em. One guy suggested as a courtesy please post when you are going to make noise via the neighborhood social media pages. So many namby pambies out there, sheesh. We have the Blue Angels once a year for the Sea Fair celebration. You should hear all the whiners ... its too noisy. People complain about New Years around here too ... I cant sleep with all the fireworks. Even though I don't personally partake in the noisy part of all the festivities, we will be at a friends house enjoying the day. And Ill be having fun watching the kids have fun. And tomorrow Ill be cleaning up all the firework sticks and such that have fallen in our yard from the culdesac across the street. Hopefully no fingers out there lol. Happy Fourth everyone! |

Re: Independence Day!
I hear the complaints and I get it. But this is a great day and it should be celebrated. I figure my 25 years in the Army as a combat engineer and artilleryman (OIF I & II) earned me the right to make a little noise in celebration of our freedom. God bless you all and God bless our USA.

Re: Independence Day!
Happy Day of Independence PEOPLE!! We thought this place was so great, so special, close to 250 years ago we all gathered to fight and beat our overlords and take it for our own. Then we went to work at making it better and better and better, till WTF happened? Sorry, it's still American the beautiful and America the great, but let's not stop making it better.
These people who see nothing BUT forward, who would change every element of life if they could because in their warp they feel new is always better need to go back to their turntables and put a great song I am sure they listened to a lot many years ago on and really listen to it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xDzVZcqtYI Now how about this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyV41-tFPcQ My dad was born on the 4th of July. Happy Birthday DAD!

Re: Independence Day!
When I was growing up I began to be more aware of the meaning of this day, and with that awareness came the meaning to me of patriotism. July Fourth is the birthday of our nation.
So what if we make a little noise Heres wishing every one here on this forum has a fun day with family and friends while celebrating the birthday of the greatest country on earth

Re: Independence Day!
Well, my big chicken of a dog survived the evening's festivities just like always! This morning it's a few hours of anvil firing, an old tradition that goes way back. Mrs. Stocker & I will walk down to the church for the ice cream social (with homemade pie of course, a great breakfast!) and go to the parade later if it's not too hot by then.
Happy Fourth to all!!

Buts that is Okay as I am taking the mufflers off my Harley and putting Straight pipes on it! At 5 am. tomorrow I will be their Alarm Clock.
