Re: Post Pics of your 1960-1966 Chevrolet & GMC Scale Model Pickups

I rarely buy die casts, but I was surprised to find a pile of these at Walmart this morning and had to have one. Theyíve never carried this series at the local store before. Must be loading up for Christmas:

I also picked this one up at a different Walmart a couple of weeks ago. Itís Hot Wheel size and claimed to be a 1958 GMC, but it has single headlights, a funky plastic grille that doesnít look like anything and an odd front bumper that looks similar to the one found on a 1950 Dodge. It also has wheel tubs! I havenít decided yet whether to leave it alone or cut it up and turn it into a 1960-66 short step:

That GMC is a Fleet option. Very basic truck with Chevy interior!

I just finished a mock up of what I want our '66 GMC to look like (aside from the fact the model is a '60 Chevy SBW). The cab and bed fit is terrible, its' like they are different scales. Other than that I think it turned out okay.

May I ask, how one would achieve that patina look?

I like it! Great GMC-only color. I see it has the two-tone. I need to make a GMC pickup.

If any of you guys/gals get into hobby-grade RC's, ProLine has a 1/10 '66 Chevy lexan body for rock crawlers https://www.prolineracing.com/bodies...dy-cab-bed.asp.

On the plus side I had a few extra resin parts left over, and I handed them over to another member that is working with a professional resin caster to see if he is willing to put them back in production. If all goes well at least these pieces may again become available. Hereís whatís being worked on:

1960-65 Grille:

1966 Grille:

1960-61 Chevy hood:

1960-61 GMC hood:

1962-66 GMC hood:

Radiator and air deflectors:

And the stock front bumper:

I'll post more info as it becomes available.
Do you have these 66 GMC grilles and hoods available?

Sorry, no. I handed everything over to another forum member as he was working with someone that promised to reproduce them. I don't have any spares left now.
