Late model seats

This weekend I bought a set of bucket seats with the fold down center console/seat and built in seat belts out of an early 2000's Chevy truck for my 63.

Re: Late model seats

Uh oh, upside down pics. I took the original out and set then in to place. Made a coupe marks and laid it out with a straight edge. Drilled the holes for some grade 8 bolts.

Re: Late model seats

Set the seats into place and bolted them in with the biggest fender washers I could find. I'm going to cut singe steel plate and drill it to install under the floor to give it some strength since the belts are built in. They are comfy, I don't slide around the seat going around turns, I finally have seatbelts for the kids. Cupholders!!!

Re: Late model seats

Have the same thing in leather in my truck. I'd recommend throwing a heated seat kit in them! Not very difficult, and it feels great!

Hmm I've thought about this very same thing. Nice job. How much did you pay for them?

Re: Late model seats

I'm already planning on it, every other vehicle we own has them. When it's says and done my truck will be power everything with heated power seats, keyless entry with remote start. The whole nine yards, gonna keep the patina and just fix the rust.

Re: Late model seats

The way they bolt down from the factory, the bolts for the seats go through the mounts for the center seat and holds it down. I had to scoot the center seat forward a couple inches and drill separate mounting holes so it could flip up without hitting the gas tank. If the tank was relocated I could have mounted them the way they were in the late model they came out of. I wound up about an inch closer to the wheel, when I change columns I'll slide it in a bit for a little extra space.
