Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks

I just got my 1997 GMC SCSB all cleaned up and lowered on some Billet Specialties wheels! I've wanted this truck since I was 11! So stoked on it!

It's a 5/6 drop from Crown Suspension and the wheels are 20x8.5 front and 20x10 rear.

Clean truck. Must be a repaint since it's not showing spots where the paint lifted from the metal. White trucks seem to be the most common w/the issue.

It's actually mostly factory paint. It's got some chips and scratches, but overall it's in very good shape. I did 2000 grit wet sand the whole truck and buffed it out. The only thing that's not factory paint is the tailgate. The factory one was stolen before I owned it and they repainted one off a different truck.

I’m running the same wheels as him. They are 5.5bs. Front and rear. I can’t speak for tire sizes on his. But the pic I posted is of mine on 255/35 and 275/35

Same thing I was going to ask, regarding wheel backspacing. Also, do the Crown Suspension spindles push the wheels out like Belltech?

Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks

I just finished my 5/7 drop using all Belltech stuff, also replaced all front end parts, control arm bushings and I just need to make a decision on wheels. I am going with 20" but can't decide on polished aluminum, grey or black.

I think the truck looks perfect the way it is with the stock wheels. Fantastic truck.

Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks

Hey guys, I just joined. Here's my '89 Sierra, 4.3 tbi, manual 2wd. I picked it up last may and have steadily been changing it. Did the drop in December. djm 4/6 with a flip kit and notch in the rear, coils and lower control arms up front. Wheels are 20x8.5 front and back, just because I wasn't too concerned with having wide tires in the rear since the 4.3's are pretty underpowered anyway. Still a long list of things to do with it, but it's getting shorter every week.
