Does anyone here know this blazer ???

Hi Guys,

New to this site. I have a 1956 Chevy Bel- air wagon I built 3 yrs ago. Long 3200 Hour build and 2 yrs.

Now I am looking to get into a early Chevy blazer 2 wheel drive for my wife.
I am looking at one done in Texas right now at A & E auto. Talked to the staff. They are consigning for the owner. This 1970 with later seats in it, which I do not mind. Was built in California and then bought by present owner and brought to Texas. 350/ 700r 4. Rebuilt 350 SB. Vin checks out as a 2wd, built in St Louis. V-8 truck.

Asking $39K

Has anyone seen this truck ? or live near A & E auto North East of San Antonio
Hwy 35.

Thanks
Brian

I don't know it but that's not a 1970 front grille or bumper.

Wow, Thanks. More info then the owner and A & E knew about the truck. I wonder what it sold for back then?
Owner is not moving much on the price. He has put 700 miles on it from the time he bought it. He bought a new Vette, and that has his interest now.
These are non existent up here in Ma. When I weigh in all my time and money to bring one back to this condition, I don't think he is way out of the ball park. My 56 wagon took a ton of time and money to bring it back to the way it is now. Done as a Resto Mod. That was doing all the paint/ body motor, and interior myself.

Here is my present ride.

New as in 1970? Our was that the selling price @ $21,000.00 at the auction in Reno.

It does not have AC. would need to add it, if I decided to purchase.

71/72 grill and bumper. '72 door panels. Single wall top available in '72. This Blazer was for sale in Oregon within the last 2 years. I saw it on the Portland Craigslist and if I remember correctly the owner was asking 25k.

Oh I got it. When they were new back in the day. Yes, who would think that the one's that survived would be getting this kind of money?

Re: Does anyone here know this blazer ???

I'd make damn sure that VIN is right. A lot of the value is in it being a real 2WD, even if it does have an incorrect grill/bumper, door panels, etc.

1970 was the first year for the 2wd Blazers (1969 was 4x4 only) and GM only built 985, yes, 985 2wd 1970 blazers.

Blazers have gone NUTS in price in the past few years, so apparently the owner knows what he has.

Hagerty is showing a concourse restoration as 41K (not what this is) or an excellent condition as 25K

Really ! wow. That seemed like a great price for it. I'm thinking this asking price is a bit high. Was thinking for something that looks to be pretty clean as this looks with about 1, 700 miles on it from the frame off, that $33K might be the max. But I have seen them higher and some ( not many) a bit lower, but not as clean as this one seems to be.

VIN # CE 180S171391.

From what I read:

C = 2 wD
E= v-8
1 = 1/2 ton
8= Blazer
0 = 1970
S == St Louis

Or so I thought when I was trying to decoded it.
