step notch
how tall do I need the step notch in a 65 c10 fleet side short bed to clear 20 inch wheels with a 29 inch tire? I am trying to keep as much bed depth as possible thanks

???? a step notch to clear wheels ???? unless im wrong, a step notch is in the frame for lowering a vehicle to clear the axle not a wheel

While the wheels and tires really don't determine the height of the frame notch, it really is a matter of how low you want the rear of the truck and the location of the rearend housing in relation to the frame.

The way I've done is measure the distance from the ground and bottom of the frame (in front of the rear wheels just before the frame starts to go up) then transfer that distance to the top of the axle. Presuming that you want to lay frame.
