New yard ornament

Picked this one up for 500 bucks a couple of weeks ago. 93 ecsb 4X4, I hope to swap the motor out before christmas and bring it back to life. Budget revival, hope to have it on the road for under 1000 bucks. Wish me luck!

Re: New yard ornament

No gun, just right place at the right time. Got lucky I guess. So the guy said the truck would die when you put the truck in gear. Motor sounds like it's going come apart, got shavings in the oil. I did put it in gear and move it around. So it moves,I got another 350 to put in. It needs a heater core and probably some brake work, other than that who knows. More to come.

Re: New yard ornament

Bad news, both heads are cracked. Good news had another set to take in. Hopefully I'll get them back before christmas break.

Re: New yard ornament

Still waiting on my heads for the replacement motor. I did however score a dash from the local salvage yard for 40 bucks, not a single crack in it. I even managed to pull, transport & install it in my truck without breaking anything! I'll get a pic of it in the truck later.

Re: New yard ornament

Nothing special, everything is stock. This motor was in a buddy of mines truck up until 2 years ago when he replaced it with a higher performance motor. This was just going to be a simple head gasket, oil pump and a few other minor things and stuff it in to my truck. I was hoping it would all go together good, but while changing the valve guide seals my valves were bypassing. Off to the machine shop with the heads. Anyway got the heads back Friday. Basically I am building this truck to use as a truck, I just want to get it going!
