Steering Wheel

On my 72 Burb, the steering wheel is deteriorated badly.

Does anyone have any pics of their steering wheel? I would like to get some ideas on what to put in mine...

Any suggestions would be great!!!

Here is mine.

Re: Steering Wheel

Blue seems to be more prone to this.Also,Sandlewood.You can buy reproduction steering wheels. All the GM car/truck wheels interchange.A blur car wheel would look nice. There are sportier smaller diameter thicker grip wheels from later models.

Re: Steering Wheel

there is a couple of guys at the shows that restore cracked and faded steeering wheeld from older cars. I would try to track these guys down and see what it costs in comparison to a repro. I havent seen repro I liked better than the stock yet.

Re: Steering Wheel

Really, and I`m sure it would be an expensive miracle. The repros are....well,reproductions.Meaning,they look and feel just like an original.I have a blue one on my GMC and that`s my experience.I wanted to keep an original look. The hard part was finding a blue GMC horn cap.

Re: Steering Wheel

I put this wheel on my Blazer. It was from a late 70s Buick Skyhawk. I installed a Chevy horn button on it. They came in different colors black, blue, tan and green. You can always go with a repo. Good used ones are hard to find.

Re: Steering Wheel

That is the original steering wheel in my 68 chevy truck, i do not know if that type of steering wheel was done only for the trucks outside the states.
