Factory, Promotional and Misc Films

Decided to put them all in one thread. Let's see how many we can find out there:

Here's a good one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JE7Q3IICRg

I think it's a little later than 1978, maybe 1980 or so because it shows the TopKick.

Re: Factory, Promotional and Misc Films

I fixed it for you Bob. I believe the 4-53 was also available in these trucks, but they really didn't mention it in the video.

Thanks for fixing the link. As I remember, the 8.2L Detroit 'Fuel Squeezer' replaced the Detroit 4-53T in '79 or '80. I think for one model year both were available in the regular C series mediums. The 3208 Cat was only available in the high mount cab-high hood TopKick and Kodiak. A lot of promotional material at the time also listed the Cummins VT-225 as an option in the TopKick/Kodiak as well, but there is some doubt any were actually built.

Great idea for a thread, Bill. I came across this one last week. Light trucks, but commercial line

And this is one I've looked at before

Here's one with Roy Rogers in it:

Tim, I tried to convert yours to video, but some just won't co-operate for some reason.

Re: Factory, Promotional and Misc Films

That's all? Thanks Bill. How do you like some of that info on that circa 1957 film? "It's the trucker's job" to stop and assist motorists. 8 hour limit? When did that guy sleep in those two days?

Re: Factory, Promotional and Misc Films

I found the film pretty interesting. I believe they said something about going to a motel to sleep, but I don't know much more than that, lol. I'm surprised that they didn't show a truck with a sleeper cab.

That said, a friend of mine still driving makes an overnight trip at least once a week in a day cab. He gets to sleep at night in a nice motel with all expenses paid. Now that is having it nice.

Re: Factory, Promotional and Misc Films

How it should be. I tried to fix those first two I posted and I think I messed them up. It didn't work so I typed everything back, but...

Never mind. Just checked and they work

Re: Factory, Promotional and Misc Films

Tim, To get this one to post, I had to click onto it, copy and paste the title of it, close it out and start from scratch again. For some crazy reason, lol.

Thanks. They all work either way but it's nice for it to show what the video is
