What's it worth? 84 bagged C10 shortfleet

A guy offered this Silverado as trade on my 56 Chevy, hasn't talked any boot yet, what do you think? I'm asking $6900 for my 56 BA 4dr ht, he may bring the truck over Saturday to see my 56.

Re: What's it worth? 84 bagged C10 shortfleet

IMO it is a 3-3500 truck due to the paint and bodywork needed. What is the spec on the motor? I hear it has a cam. Bags and all that is nice but if it is going to cost a ton to paint it you'll never get it out of it as that truck painted would probably never bring the scope of buyers your 56 would done up.

Re: What's it worth? 84 bagged C10 shortfleet

It depends on the components he used to bag it. the sheet metal on these trucks are a dime a dozen, but the real money would've been invested in the suspension. Find some specs on that and it'll give us a better idea of what its worth.

Re: What's it worth? 84 bagged C10 shortfleet

This is just my opinion, but I don't get the bagged thing& big wheels. These trucks look good factory stance, maybe a slight drop 15x8 on front 15x10 on rears. If he offered his trade plus 6900.00 I would not do it!! I guess I am too old school,I was 16 in 1981, you very rarely saw a lowered truck & big wheels were still 20 years down the road....

its a 3-5k truck based on just looks.. if the interior is trashed and the bed is all cut up then its the lower end of 3k.

Is your 4dr Chevy worth $6900?

2k tops... what kind of drive train? Anything special about the truck? Definitely needs body work. How much do you trust another mans welds? Was it professionally welded? Keep the car for a better trade.

Re: What's it worth? 84 bagged C10 shortfleet

First thoughts are this thing has been riddin hard. I also see in the background another tri-five. Which tells me he kinda knows what he is looking for. If the trucks body would have been more solid I'd see it as a 3500 dollar truck but when I see rust straight through like that makes me wonder what he's hiding. Then again maybe nothing. But my thoughts it isn't a straight trade for your car. You feel your car is 6900 then he better have some sort of wickedly good suspension, motor and not just a cam deal I'm talking spent some money here. Plus honestly in these times would you give close to that kind of money for a square with a couple mods? Imo he can keep the wheels.

No way I would give $6900 based on what I see in that video. I need to see your car to offer an opinion on whether or not I think a straight up trade is fair. You could be smoking crack too!

If he throws in the poodle I would go for it. After all, your car is a 4dr. Who wants to be seen driving a 4 door?

Yeah that truck is like 3 grand tops if you don't find any shotty welds or a hack job on the rear set up.

Re: What's it worth? 84 bagged C10 shortfleet

The truck is worth 4-5 grand retail because of the bags, engineering and motor. But, you have to decide if that is worth it to you. If you are really over priced on your 56, this may be a good trade.

I'm always weary of the thought of buying/trading for a vehicle someone else has bagged. I just don't know how much I'd trust just any ones welds on something as important as the suspension.

There is no way anyone can offer you more than a guess here. I have no idea of the value of this truck because there are way too many questions unanswered. To accurately offer a value of that truck we would need to see quality pics of the entire truck. That would include detailed pics of the inside, outside, under hood and under carriage.

I won't even offer a guess till you can post more details.

Re: What's it worth? 84 bagged C10 shortfleet

The wheels and tires are worth some money. The air ride set can be worth it depending on brand and quality of the job. The body don't look the best. I'd say 5-6 depending on motor and the brand parts used to bag it

You guys are so helpful, I should have posted a link to my 56 ad, and I have a bunch more pictures, it's a fairly solid good driver, they are becoming more popular as they look neater than a 4dr sedan. I've told a couple guys my bottom $ is $6k, seems like collector cars have dropped with the economy but I've had a bit of interest lately, maybe they have bottomed out and going back up.
