lifting my 4x4?

i am new to the whole 4x4 world. i am buying a 76 k10 and am toying with the idea of lifting it. the rear suspension seems simple just to block under the springs, as long as the drive shafts still reach. the front end lifting i am completly oblivious to. hoping you guys could inform me with ways or kits or maybe some pictures to show me the basic process. thanks

Re: lifting my 4x4?

Its simple, buy a kit that has everything you need. You have to replace the front springs regardless, you will also need a raised steering arm. the rear lift is usually obtained by new rear leaves, or a block, and add a leaf, or a shackle flip.

I got a rough country 6 inch lift on my k10 for under 500$, New front leaves, raised steering arm, rear block and add a leaf, shocks and cool stickers.

Check out my build thread in my sig for more details.

how big are you wanting to go?

Re: lifting my 4x4?

4 or 6 inch on 35s is a good look. I have 6 inch and 36s but i want to go up to 9 inch on 38s.

Also me being 6'4" I still have to jump into it at the current height, and it gets tiring if you drive the truck alot. Thats something else you might want to consider if you're short lol

Re: lifting my 4x4?

Haha yes you could call me short, towering at 5'6" . And 4" sounds more realistic to me. I plan to only drive this truck around town in the mud. I could never afford to spin the 35" tires to work daily. Thats where my 84 c10 comes into the picture. Thanks for the lesson though!

Re: lifting my 4x4?

No problem, 4" on 35s looks good and is still usable.

Start looking at side steps too! Haha just poking fun man. If you got any other questions just ask
