Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

Thanks Dan and Mark.

I had to work on my daily driver and around the house this weekend, but I did get one slider installed. Pretty happy with it but the slider is a little looser than I would like. I'm curious on how the others will turn out.

So nice to see slider windows. So many people just go one piece glass. I have all of the sliders and I plan on doing the same. You are ahead of me so I cant offer and suggestions..

Thanks
Marc

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

Marc glad to hear you are going with the sliders too. They won't be completely weather proof no matter how good you are but they have way more character than solid glass.

Too bad we didn't meet sooner. I sold a set of sliders. I had accumulated (2) sets when trying to get one set for myself.

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

Made a little progress in the garage this weekend wasn't feeling incredibly ambitious, but I got all the sliders installed. Also just cleaned up the seats and got the windlace installed on the passenger side door. The windlace tested my patience and was a pretty good workout.

The progress looks really good. The interior is really shaping up nicely.

My buddy and I were talking this weekend and some 3in lowering springs might be in my near future. I think that should give it the stance I'm looking for.

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

Haven't had a lot of time to be in the garage lately. I did get the driver's door assembled minus the window trim. The trim I bought does not fit and I have no idea why frustrating to say the least. I need to take some time and figure it out.

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

I've wanted a visor for the Burb for a long while now. I was up at a swap meet today and found a decent Fulton that almost matches my paint bonus right? I'm sure everyone on here has gotten all pumped up at a good swap meet find and then when they get home they discover all the issues with the part. Well this visor is a classic example of that. What's a little more work though....

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

I stripped the visor and brackets today. It wasnt to bad two holes on each panel and expected dents. I have a new center section and hardware in the mail so in the interim I will body work what I can and get ready to mock it up before paint.

Thanks Scottish it's starting to shape up. I'm looking forward to putting some miles on it this summer and working through the kinks. I took this picture a couple weeks ago thought it was kind of cool. It's one of my dad's trucks and my uncle's Chevelle I was destined to be a Chevy guy.

I love the look of it, my truck is a lifetime away or so it feels anyway, from being finished. What year is Your dads truck? I'm building a 58.

Thanks I appreciate it. The build is half the fun I have a long ways to go yet.

It's a 55, really great truck. That's cool you're building a 58 I love the look of the front end that year.

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

I got a couple pieces back from paint really like how the front gravel guard gives the front end a much more finished look.

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

I also got the visor painted. I am getting a crash course on Fulton visors and unfortunately am going to need to paint another center section that will be wider. I don't have enough adjustment with the set up as is. More money out the door on a dumb mistake.

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

Great job on your burb. The color is one of my favorites. Did you want the visor lower or higher? Nice CJ7 is it on 35's?

Thanks i am real happy with the color choice really has grown on me. I'm happy with the height of it. I bought this visor at a swap meet and I think it was set up for something narrower. Fulton has another center section that is 3" wider so I got one of those and I am going to paint it. It will bolt up now but it is tweaking and stressing it more than I like. Problem should be solved shortly.

Yeah those are 35's sits up pretty good.
