Question Add a '76 front end to a '54???

I have just made a deal to get a '76 chevy truck for parts.(I need the engine and trans.) The thought hit me to use the front suspension from the '76 on my '54. I was going to slowly add a MII suspension, piece by piece, but since this truck is here and being parted out(by me) I thought why not. Has anyone done, or seen a truck with this set up? I figure this truck is the right price(free). I wonder if can use the power steering? I just thought it was good idea. I haven't seen the truck yet, the guy says its in o.k. shape for a parts donor. Any help would be appreciated.

Bolt on '73-87 frontend.

I'm planning on doing this to my '51. I have found several sources of information on doing this. It basically takes some 1/2" spacers between the frame and crossmember. Check out this website for a walkthrough : http://50chevy.freeservers.com/Bolt_...pendent_2.html . Good luck.
