1972 -205 transfer case markings and front diff markings

I previously posted and asked for tranfercase ident and i could not find a tag but the unit is cast and it has markings on the back and a pad that is difficult to read - markings in the rear of the case are C-99404 and below is an A shape and 1N can anyone read this and the front diff shows on the pot C3A33544-8F andf a tag that reads 41-11 and beside reads 3.73 wich i believe is the ratio . thanks for the education for those who have answered the previous and posted pics of which i am unable

Your t-case is an NP205. The front axle is a Dana 44. The ratio is 3.73 as you assumed.

how did you recognize a transfer case from that jumble please explain so as to educate me . and that 'A" symbol denotes a foundry =- it is like a cast startreck symbol - the one they would tap on the chest to comunicate - sounds odd but that is close to the cast marking

205s are the only transfer case that I have seen have that star/circle deal on the back if thats what your talking about.

My 72 has a 205. The biggest difference I noticed comparing it to my dads 72 blazer with a 208 is size. The 205 is much bigger. I had trouble finding the id tag on mine to. Its on the front of the case next to the front driveshaft yoke.

I have seen that C-99404 casting number on a bunch of 205 cases before.
