doors and tailgate interchange??

I'm needing a good tailgate and doors for my '74 K5 Blazer.
I've researched it but get contradicting results.
Anyone know what years are the same? I know trim etc. is different but what years are the same except for trim? Thanks in advance if you can help!

Depends if you want to run a hard top. If you're going with a soft top a standard c//k10/20 truck tailgate will fit with hardware from pick n pull and will cost you about $30. Plus it weighs 80 pounds or so less.

Re: doors and tailgate interchange??

The doors are the same from 73 through the 91 suburban and blazers.. The difference are the mirrors and the interior panels on the doors. However you can bolt a 91 door onto a 74 and remove the door frame parts and you are good..

Tail gates are the same as well. I have a newer power window gate on my 74 blazer.

Re: doors and tailgate interchange??

'73-'76 doors use a smaller door panel than the '77 and newer doors and your stock door panels will not cover the extra holes. You could use the newer door panels too. Truck, Blazer or Suburban doors can all be cut to work. You will want to transfer the braces from your factory doors to the new cut doors. There is one under the cap at the rear of the door. The cap actually screws to it. There is also a small bracket in the door frame above the vent window.

I'm not concerned about using the original '74 inner door upholstery panels etc. Is that what you're referring to? Thanks for the info.
