Re: relocate gas tank

Blazer and mustang seem to be the go-to tank mounted behind the rear axle

Re: relocate gas tank

I have a 1969 mustang tank that's 22 gallon capacity. Earlier years have less capacity. Neck comes up in the center of the bed about 12" or so from the tailgate.

I believe my tank is a late 80's Suburban and it's a 31 gallon unit. I've never filled it entirely, and the filler comes out thru the passenger rear fender.

Did you guys running the 22 gal tank have to cut your frame? I'm considering buying one of the mustang tank from tanks inc. just trying to figure out my best option for the money.

Re: relocate gas tank

The only difference is the 22 gal tank is taller by 3 inches above the mounting flange.

Re: relocate gas tank

I'm on an S10 frame, but one more vote for a Tank's Inc. Mustang tank. I have the 16gal version on mine.

This shot gives you a good idea in relation to the rest of the frame.

Re: relocate gas tank

Thank you for the responses, I'm glad to hear the good reviews of the tank also. Seems i didnt see which group this was in though. I was wondering about how it would fit in a 67? My mistake and thanks again
