I finally cranked the engine! First start with the blower set up. It needs some tuning but it's alive!

I've gotten the same questions every time I've posted this video somewhere, so here are some answers:

Yes it's idling high. The blower is pulling the secondaries open.
There is water circulating in the engine, there is a hose in the manifold and a drain out of the pump.
The headers are temporary zoomies made by hacking up some old longtubes. Just for this start.

Around 5:45 it starts to want to idle and you can hear the cam a bit.

Here are a few pics of the rigging it took to get it started. I planned a huge "Blowers and BBQ" event and had some friends over so it forced me to get it done on time.

I also assumed that the carbs I had were decent... when it wouldn't fire I had to do some emergency last minute hacking.

Next I cut the bed and sat it on. Things get interesting doing this alone. my wife helped some, but it still caused my butthole to pucker until it was sitting on the frame.

I got my tires and mounted them... so close to being a roller. Just need to trim the bed some now.

I trimmed the bed and got the wheels/tires under the truck. Really happy with the stance. It tucks just the right amount of tire. The first lifted pic is at ride height.

At this point we are almost caught up to present time. The truck was complete enough to where it was time to get it out into the sunlight and see how it's really going to sit.

It's been hibernating in a dark garage for 9 years. Finally I stretched it's legs and pushed it out into the light....

And with the hood. I was aiming for a slight rake for the muscle truck look, with the rear 2" higher than the front when laid out. As a recovering minitrucker, it was nearly impossible for me to resist laying the rear all the way out. I'm really glad I left it raked.

Thanks! I have some ideas rolling around for a quick release hood hinge... Should allow me to run with or without pretty easily. One thing I really like about the blower... With a few different scoops on hand and hood on or off you can completely change the look of the truck very quickly.

swap them pulleys around and really let er eat.

cool build, i didn't know there was other air bags and blower guys in this world.
