New tires?

In the last week I've replaced hoses, belts, flushed the radiator, rebuilt the carb. And gave her a complete tune up. I've owned this sub for 19 years. Was going to sell her but now I'm keeping her, as a daily driver again. She sat for literally 10 years. The tires have less than 2000 miles on them. Minor cracking, the same as the 2 yer old tires on my Tahoe. Should I replace them just because there're old?

Might want to check them for tire rot, inspect the side walls. From what I have learned in the past, sounds like they're past their prime (tires do have shelf life) and at risk for blowout or leaks. I'm not a tire guy... So don't take my word for it. I've driven on stuff before that was so old a crack in the side wall caused the tire to leak and go flat. Never had one blow out, but it was always city driving.... Lower speed.

BUT, certainly not worth the risk if new tires are within budget.

I would replace them ,very dangerous . When I first bought my 1 ton it had what looked like new tires on it and the right front blew out in heavy traffic ,they were old ,just well kept .

Don't chance it, replace them. The peace of mind alone would be worth it to me!!
