Looking at a 2003 Sierra K2500 w/6.0

Going to look at K2500 work truck. Guy says it needs an O2 sensor and has a low/ rough idle. Could that be related to the O2 sensor? Is this problem common on these trucks?

Could be, But could be as simple as leaking intake gaskets (rough idle,Lean trim codes) Most people, Even some inexperianced mechanics think fuel trim codes mean bad O2's....I find thats rarely the case.

Have the truck scanned, post the codes BEFORE you buy.

i agree with the above post. i changed both 02 sensors on mine just because at around 130k, the car ran the same and i did notice a change at all. i am not sure if bad o2 sensors are that big a deal, you could always buy 2 keep the receipt put em in and if that dont change it bring em back. i think they are around sixty to nintey bucks
