71 Steering Column Wire Identification
Can anyone identify this wire? I am changing my instrument panel from lights to gauges, and when I removed the original panel, this wire was just loose back there. I'm not sure if I pulled it out of something, or if it was already loose. It appears as if it is separate from the turn signal wiring. The steering column is out of a 71, I believe.
Thanks in Advance!

Re: 71 Steering Column Wire Identification
Check your turn signal harness for a black wire which goes into the column for the horn button. It could be a separate wire someone wired in for that. You may also have the fiber optic line for the shift indicator light but the picture you have looks like some kind of switch on the end.GM went to a regular wire for the indicator light but I can't remember what year.

Re: 71 Steering Column Wire Identification
Thank you for your reply. I think I will pull the steering wheel, and trace out where it goes.
