Question Front disc conversion

Hey I was wondering what is an affordable way to get

3" drop spindles and front disc brakes on the 67 chevy.

Will I need a brake booster and portortioning valve too?
if so will the 73-87 chevy parts bolt on the 67?

Once I get going I'll use this as a build thread.

I can't put my front bags in until I get the drop spindles cause it just
wont sit low enough..even with the bags empty. bummer..was worth a try.

Re: Front disc conversion

LMC is $299 for the spindles

early classic is $249

http://www.classicperform.com/Store/...ruck/CP4S1.htm

And Classic P is $209 but it says for C-20.... I'll have to call em.

good chart
http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=131

Looks like 2.5 drop spindle and air bags will get you there....just have to play with the air psi for proper height...

I think after reading all the "kits" it is cheaper to just buy the
spindles and get all the 71+ brake parts local.....

smoke break....

Re: Front disc conversion

I guess the other issue is once converted and dropped one can't use the 15" rims anymore.....is nice to be able to use both the 15's and 18's.. always something else.

Is there anyway to use 15" steelies with a 2.5" drop spindle and disc brakes??

Re: Front disc conversion

as soon as my drop kit gets here it will have the 1.5" drop spindles and 2.5" drop springs. I am not near my burb right now but I don't think the spindle rides inside of the rim on a set of stock rims

easy way for you to tell is with your 15" rims on to measure from the bottom of the factory spindle to the rim. subtract the 2.5" and you will have your clearance
