Need advice on floor pan/rain channel repair

I am getting ready to repair the rain channel and the floor pans on the 58 (From Orange to ?) i'm working on. Anybody have any advice on the removal of the floors for the replacement panels? I am also repairing the rust on the rain channels above the doors. The metal is really bad above and below the channels. Any advice will be great! I think I have the right way to go but it would be nice to get advice from someone who already did it.

Re: Need advice on floor pan/rain channel repair

There is a pretty good thread on repairing the rain channels on one of those on the net but I can't remember if it is here or on the HAMB.

This isn't the article I was thinking about but it does show one way of dong the rain channels.

Can't find the one I was thinking of though.

Re: Need advice on floor pan/rain channel repair

Regarding floors, are the hinge pockets and step area is good shape? Cab corners? When doing the floors you should have the door areas stabilized and close to fitting. Then cross brace the lower A pillar and cab latch jamb to keep the cab floor square and true. If you just start cutting out the floors and reinstalling things can move from the tension being released, or welding up panels.

Same with repairs to the rail area, you want to keep track of the door to cab/rail area gaps to make sure you don't cause more work later.
